A photograph of a Fire Station in Marshall, Michigan. Information about the photograph provided by Rose Breitenwischer: “My mother identified on the back as: Fire Station, Marshall, Michigan. I do not know which Marshall fire station it is, nor the date of the picture. There is so much to see in this picture. There are two unidentified men, and four horses, their names on back-wall signs. L to R: Bernice, Bernadine, Fred (or maybe Freddy) and the fourth name is obscured by the horse's head. Framing on the right wall holds documents and pictures of people. The building is two-story judging by the pole to slide down from the upper level. And there looks to be an electric light bulb hanging from the ceiling which helps to date the picture [post-1893]. A History of Marshall by Richard Carver relates much information pertaining to the fire department, but he does not include this picture.”
